500 blog visits in 1 Month - Jan 26 stats
I promised myself this year (2026) to take blogging more seriously, not in the sense of having to make any money out of it (I would love for that to happen! It’s just not my primary goal at the moment), but in order to reconnect with something that brings me immense joy - writing!
Here is what I learned in my first year of blogging and my first month of taking writing for the blog seriously:
Remind people that your blog exists
If you want an audience, you have to make said audience aware of the existence of anything worth their attention; more importantly - worth their time to look at or read through. I focus heavily on writing about books and self-growth, and though these topics may not be interesting for everyone, if my posts reach one new person with whom I could share my love for stories with, it’s a win!
I update people on my new posts in Instagram, Pinterest, and sometimes even Threads and LinkedIn (if it’s a self-growth post).
Yes, advocating for yourself this way can feel a bit awkward, perhaps even embarrassing - Oh no, people will actually see you trying. But oh well, you are trying!
Recently I have also been thinking about starting a newsletter, but I believe that will be a bit too much work for me at this current point in time. If you would be interested though, please let me know!
Write about things you are passionate about
Who would have thought that writing about something you feel genuine enthusiasm for will be a lot easier than being forced to write? When I wasn’t sure about my most passionate topics, I wrote about anything and everything. I kept my mind and heart open and stayed curious, explored various areas of interest, and eventually found my love for self-growth, delights, and bookish topics - all of which you are now able to read through on this blog!
Allow yourself to be a work in progress
Do you want to know how many times I have changed up the aesthetics, placements of blocks, fonts, etc. on this website? A LOT! I thought that things had to be “perfect” in order for me be able to start writing, but I was wrong. At some point I embraced the days on which I decided to rearrange things and thus had to let my page go through a downtime for a day or two.
Aside from the look and feel, also remember that you are allowed to change and grow. What interests you today might bore you tomorrow and you’ll find yourself not writing about your “boring” topic any longer and that is okay!
Find your WHY
What is it you write for - to build a community of like-minded people, publish educational content or simply write? Each purpose will influence the way you write and view the act of writing. Through it all, I hope that if you were to decide to write, it would bring you the utmost joy.
This is your reminder again more that you can only find what you're seeking, once you start looking. If your Why is still unclear, experiment with different topics or even formats.
Who said that posts couldn’t be pictures only or a poem? It’s your blog after all - you make the rules!
My stats in January 2026
In January, a little over 500 people have clicked on my blog, most came by clicking on direct links in Instagram, followed by LinkedIn and then Threads/Pinterest. Imagine a room filled with that many people, an audience listening or reading through what you had to say - a true honor!
I will celebrate 500 clicks just as much as I will celebrate 300 or 1.000. Each win deserves its moment.
Is blogging worth it in 2026?
For me, absolutely! It’s been fun to yap about romance books and aha-moments from other nonfiction works!
Who knows where writing will lead me? I sure hope I can continue with this passion project for a long while!
For everyone who has been following my blog since its beginnings in March 2025, thank you.
For those who have joined along the journey, thank you.
For all the new readers, thank you.
My blog would only be half as fun if nobody was to read it.
Lead your dreams,
Soso
